strengthens me.
My Story
Greetings, My name is Efren j and would like to
share my story with the public. In 2004 I weighed in at 330lbs had high blood
pressure, high cholesterol diabetic and was a smoker and a drinker for over 26
years. Its no doubt in my mind, if I continued with my eating habits and abusing
my body I would have been on my way to a second heart attack. In 2005 I decided
to make a life long commitment and get healthy through exercise, nutrition and
my faith. By February’s end of 2005 I joined the local YMCA weighing in at
230lbs and as of August 1, 2005 I got down to weighing in at 156lbs. I’m
currently holding a healthy racing weight of 140lbs in 2012 with all my health
issue a thing of the past along with several wins in Triathlons and runs/races
thus far.
In conclusion, I think it’s important for people
to know that there is a light at the end of the tunnel with weight loss. With so
many diets and extreme surgeries happening today I think people forgot that
exercise and eating right works, I am proof of that. Recently I ran a 5k race in
a near by city and won over all. Grateful I am to have discovered the light of
my faith in health and to keep either winning races or placing in them because,
I was a smoker since the age of 16 and when I quit, I quit cold turkey.
Committed, as I am to my faith as to my wife of 20 years to my training.
Thank you for your time;
Efren J
